lmao, everyone click the Bolland link above

  • leafmealone

How refreshing that the Leafs name doesn’t need to be brought up when all the talking heads start listing the teams that made horrible signings. Maybe the best move is to save as much cap room as possible and see what can be done at the deadline?

  • Reether

leafmealone They definitely learned the hard way last year the importance of having some cap flexibility during the year

  • vinoa

    @BigTO Good summary.

  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DgsgWHQfY0 Kouba

barjv01 Clarkson on the 4th line is exactly what we do not want to see

  • Biltmore

    barjv01
Have Kulemin (much hope) centre that third line, drop Holland to centre the fourth. No way RC could leave a fourth line of Ashton, Holland and Clarkson on the bench all season.

  • Jordan29

still need a backup i forgot

  • leafmealone

barjv01 Ugh, Clarkson already acted like a total and complete bitch about not being used in a more offensive role last year. I can only assume that putting him on the 4th line would cause a total shit show.

  • Mind Bomb

The thing for me after all is said and done here, who is the line that goes head to head with the Opps best, we still dont have that line

  • Marlies Man

Cheap looking podium from the 1980s

  • leafmealone

Mind Bomb It looks like we may go the route the Islanders seem to be trying, maybe we can just outscore everyone?

  • loomx

Mind Bomb Yep. They improved where they could today though. Good thing July 1st isn’t a deadline for moves though.

  • Loric76

leafmealone Mind Bomb wasn’t that what we tried to do last year?

  • ProfessorRance

Marlies Man Spent it all on Komarov 😉

  • AndrewGalea

whether or not carlyle changes his system will have more effect than any trades. lets hope we still don’t have that idiotic collapse-style system again.

  • loomx

Getting ready for the typical mumbo jumbo. “We’re comfortable with what we have but we’ll look to improve.

  • skiingallday

So this can start any day now. I wanna hear NoNo blow some hot air around the room

  • vinoa

ProfessorRance Marlies Man Clarkson*. There I fixed it for you.

  • Don Cherry

we still need 2 centers and 1 offensive winger imo

    Bolland — ?????
    Mclemment — ?????
    Raymond — ?????

  • leafmealone

Loric76 leafmealone Mind Bomb 2 years ago, yes. Last year we brought in Bolland and Clarkson to be a possession team with a “shut down” line.

  • Mind Bomb

loomx Mind Bomb True, its a good start today

  • Bon Scott was a Leaf fan

Someone tell Nonis to hurry the fuck up!!  I wanna see if Mr. Sub is open today and pickup a super chicken souvlaki with onions, hot peppers, and tziki sauce.

  • The_Polish_Cannon

AndrewGalea completely agree, I felt even last year, that between the leafs and the marlies we had the pieces to be a better team. But terrible system plus misused players lead to the collapse

  • ProfessorRance

Bon Scott was a Leaf fan You should buy a Mr. Sub franchise.

  • leafmealone

I hope we just save the money rather than spend it just cause they have it. There might be some really beneficial moves to be had in season if we are one of the few teams with some cap space.

  • mcloki

    man do I miss Burke

  • The_Polish_Cannon

    TSN praising the Leafs

  • Mind Bomb

Loric76 leafmealone Mind Bomb  I have already blocked last year out of my mind :)

  • dlb Mad

i left perhaps the most obvious target for that 4th line centre spot
    David Moss
    (based on earlier speculation)
big guy.  Phil’s cousin?  is that a good or bad thing?

  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DgsgWHQfY0 Kouba

Komarov is such a versatile player that even keeping Carlton the Bear seems redundant.

  • Murph2417

I missed everything, who all did we sign?! I see Komarov !!! :) Frattin too? Robidas as well, anyone else?

  • Loric76

    lol

    Brad Richards to chicago

Loric76 It’s been established that this account is a couple of high school kids.

Bryan Murray is an embarrassment. No one throws a player under a bus the way he does.

Brad Richards going to Chicago as per source.

  • Mind Bomb

    Loric76  Thank god

  • Ze_theLeafsFan

Richards to Chicago? well they do need a 2C. If he is not asking too much, it’s a good fit.

  • Loric76

djamon RC’s pretty good at it.  RW was too

  • gunner_36

Mike Santorelli could be an interesting stop-gap solution if we could get him cheap, rather than overpaying for Legwand, Roy, Boyle, etc. He’s not ideal and may not provide much of anything if he regresses from last year (on pace for 17G, 47 PTS before shoulder injury), but if we can get him cheap with short term, there would be low risk and we could always dump him at the deadline for a late pick.
A center group of Bozak, Kadri, Komarov, Holland and Carrick may not be that bad, but once injuries hit, there would be no surviving it.

  • The_Polish_Cannon

Loric76 holy shit, beerleaguepuckstopper broke it before Dreger!
