Dave Nonis is set to address the media at 4:30 p.m (live stream above).
The moves and news today:
- Jerry D’Amigo and a 7th round pick traded for Matt Frattin.
- Stephane Robidas signed to a 3-year, $9 million contract.
- Leo Komarov signed to a 4-year, $11.8 million contract.
- Dave Bolland signs in Florida for 5 years, $27.5 million.
- Mason Raymond signs in Calgary for 3 years, $9.5 million.
- Nikolai Kulemin remains a free agent, and doesn’t look like he’s a sure thing to go to Pittsburgh.
@Jordan29 nope, not worth wasting the roster spot on a has been with a poor attitude
@Jordan29 I would
@Jordan29 HE is perfect because if he does anything at all, we can unload him at the trade deadline. Thats why I would take this sort of a chance. Keeps Clarkson down on line 3 too.
@Bobsyouruncle also, any 30 teams could have had him for zip a couple years ago and didnt
@Jordan29 if Franson could be play D we might be set
@Xxxxxnew it's literally no risk. You're reaching on this one
@Xxxxxnew hes 26 and only 126 career games. give him another shot. if nothing else hes a 4th line grinder
@Xxxxxnew He makes $800K.
does anyone remember if franson played the left side last year at all? i guess he couldnt really get any worse
@Jordan29 we had 7 zillion LD last year so I doubt it
@Jordan29 being the only Right handed Dman on the team last year, I doubt it
See that someone suggested Dany Heatley. Not sure why??? But I'd be ok with it as long as we give him a hot new ferrari as a signing bonus and make him agree to drive Clarkson to the rink every day.
@leafmealone lol too far man
sp after doing so searching, it sounds like Polak was moved up to play top 4 a few times last year with backman and others. They moved Shattenkirk down because he was not good defensively and Polak played his off side more then a few times. If he can here we are set keeping the noob franson
lol I was told Shattenkirk was better than Phaneuf earlier this year on here
This year...Tampa will kick our ass, Florida still mostly sucks, Boston will kick our ass, Montreal will finish ahead of us, Islanders may give us a run...with a healthy Halak.
@DJGLENN22 @peterbleafs Not a hater, love my leafs...but realistic..same coach is the biggest issue, and no material changes...Polak role was supposedly Gleasons last year...he couldnt handle it...so we retain cap hit to get rid of him and bring in Polak. Same coach, basically same roster, tougher competition...and we expect better?
@peterbleafs i think your wrong, your forgetting nonis is not finished
@peterbleafs why are you here just to rub it in and give us true Leafs fans a big headache,,,,,,once a hater always a hater I guess
well if are not going to get anyone, i dont see why mcclement is such a bad idea as the 4th line centre again. i KNOW HES NOTHING more, but we need someone
@Jordan29 Marlie...Carrick McC was too slow.
@Jordan29 I don't know if Randy can restrain himself with McClement in the lineup.
Komarov and Robidas were the right moves to make today. Good job by mgmt. Not sure what the Frattin deal was all about, but the signings were key acquisitions.
Unfortunately for MLHS, there's the usual prozac shortage among factions of its benefactors
@Leafbites fratti can play 2-3 line winger, D'amigo was a 4th liner
@Leafbites So Nonis traded Scrivens, D'Amigo, a cond. 7th and a 2nd for Bernier. Not bad.
@Leafbites If Kadri and Frattin can rekindle their chemistry together (Frattin played well with Lupul as well) then we just got a perfect top 6 winger for 800k. If not, then we replaced Raymond with someone who will actually go into the corners and along the boards while allowing Clarkson a spot back on the 2nd PP.
