Interesting that Ranger has decided to sign in Switzerland. You would think that he would be able to get a contract in the NHL
Paul Ranger has agreed to a 2 year deal to play in Geneva, Switzerland.

One thing I can say about the Leafs and their prospects...They really target guys who can put the puck in the net.
On the parent team you have Kessel, JVR, Lupul, Kadri, Bozak...even with Frattin and Leivo, those two have goal scorers pedigree. In their system they have Conner Brown and recent pick William Nylander.
Not sure any team in the league has as many guys with hands around the net like we have.
We really just need some of our big bodied guys, and defensive specialists to really step up their game to be NHL calibre. Would love it if we could speed track Gauthier, Carrick, Biggs, and Broll a couple years. Wow could we ever use a big year from those guys.
So The Red Wings are still looking for a Dman, preferably right handed, and have thus lost interest in MDZ. I still hope the Leafs could trade them Cody for a young forward prospect or draft pick, and then sign MDZ for a reasonable 1 year contract. Go:
Granberg and Percy as the spares.
Did you guys know that Conner Brown is ranked 50th in the top 50 prospects on Hockeysfuture.com. That is a pretty good ranking for that late of a pick.
@Ze_theLeafsFan I'd love to be paid to go live in Switzerland for two years. Beautiful country.
@Loric76 I would far rather live is a place like Geneva that some of those shit holes south of the border.
@Loric76 Gardiners number 1, dont worry :)
@TheCanucksnaphook Your profile image is an accurate representation ;-)
@TheCanucksnaphook Yes sir.
@TheGroobster Wish him well, it was a worthwhile experiment and if it resolves whatever it was that caused him to leave, good on him.
@wendelsway1 Every day is a good day for a Franson trade :) just gotta find out which day
@wendelsway1 Morning WW, should be 2 more coming :)
@TheCanucksnaphook I loved him during the end. I'd love to see him again this year and see if he plays to his true potential.
@mcloki Too bad. I wonder what the story is. Did we slight him?
@B_Leaf If he was 20 lbs heavier he would be in the top 10. Problem is, no one knows how a "small" guy will translate to the pro's.
Not sure why he is so low. Won the OHl scoring race, tho its not like he used a big mature body to muscle his way to goals. Fared just as well without McDavid. By all accounts has great hockey IQ and a fantastic work ethic. We should always be cautious not to overhype, but I'm not quite sure what else Connor Brown could do at this point? Should he have won the scoring race by 50 points?
@Mind Bomb Morning MB.
He does not strike me as one of those pampered offensive "superstars' who have to come thru the ranks believing they are a gift from God and need not alter their style of play or concern themselves with D. Like a Yakupov for instance. He seems to be willing to do whatever it takes
Being in the top 50 ranking is very complimentary. He is the only Leaf in that ranking. Of course Morgan Rielly has graduated. But Brown is ahaed of Leivo according to that...not necessarily the case but interesting to think about.
@MaxwellHowe He's a Leaf prospect.
@MaxwellHowe Hey Max, ok we need one more for Euchre :)
Its not like I think he'll make the Leafs in the next 2 years, but he certainly has been advancing on a ridiculous trajectory. Add some weight, improve skating. IMO, he will get there eventually.
@dlb Mad @TheCanucksnaphook Just a ton of players in the NHL are 5'9" to 6'0" and around 180lbs...and all do just fine. Just look down through rosters every team has a number of them, even playing defense.....example....Torrey Krug Boston Bruins, Defense.....5'9" tall, 181 lbs.
David Kreijci who many here want as our number one Center....5'11" and 171 lbs.
@MaxwellHowe I think if he starts putting up numbers in the AHL next season he could get a look real quick.
Today for me its
