This double thread thing is too much. I'll be back game night. Over and out.
If you change it Alec, Dec. Send out an e-mail
Morning my fellow delusioned. Seems like the chatter here (and the animosity) is picking up. I like it.
Didn't realize until today that the NHL improved revenue sharing quite a lot in the last contract. One new wrinkle is all home teams chip in 35% of their playoff revenue straight into revenue sharing.
I kept getting an ERROR 502 message when I tried to open MLHS. I was wondering why 502? What's wrong with ERROR 404? Oh well so long as it's working again, the holes in the wall can be fixed tomorrow. lol
Dec and Alex are going to need to start the day off with a daily mash up. I wonder if their experiment to restrict posting has worked.
Seems my pup has Kennel cough again. Seems like every 3rd time she goes to petsmart she comes back with kennel cough. So off to the vet we go tomorrow.
- JVR-Bozak-Kessel: No reason to split that up. At least not right now. Give Kadri significant on the top unit there though.
- Lupul-Kadri-Clarkson: Have to give Clarkson a defined role on that line. This gives him the best shot at living up to his contract, at least part of it. He'd be able to rack up goals if he fits. 20 goals, 15 assists, and protection of the other two(allowing Kadri to play more on the edge) would be decent value.
- Komarov-Holland-Booth: Probably the best two wingers for Holland. Komarov can step in and take the more important draws. Booth works the boards and can score goals. Gives Komarov the best chance in the bottom 6 at maximizing his offense.
- Winnik-Kontiola-Santorelli: Out of all the additions, Kontiola is probably the least likely to be successful. Euro experiments like this usually don't work out. Nonetheless, he'll probably start with a spot regardless of how he plays at the beginning. This probably ends up being Carlyle's favourite line that he throws out whenever. Frattin and Ashton as the extras.
JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Lupul - Kadri - Clarkson/Santorelli
Booth - Holland - Clarkson/Santorelli
Komarov - Kontiola - Winnik
(Frattin, Bodie, Ashton) - Am I missing someone? This is arguably how I see the lines breaking down, with Frattin getting the edge when injuries or a shake up is needed.
Also regarding a few comments from bellow, looks like Frattin could be an extra (along with Ashton), but management has high hopes for Frattin and I see him having a break out year (score 15 goals) so gut feeling says he replaces someone in the line up and is a consistent player.
@Burtonboy Lead by example is something this team really missed the last few years.
@ingy56 I didn't even know he was still a FA
@MaxwellHowe Good morning Max...where's the animosity? did I miss something?
@Xxxxxnew Yes, I think previously teams were able to keep most or all of their playoff revenue for their owners, which I thought was kind of crooked.
Error 502 is a problem either with your home network or your ISP, not the website. If your ISP was doing maintenance you might get this problem for a while. Alternately, if your router/modem at home were malfunctioning you could also get it. Waiting and rebooting are your go to solutions.
@mcloki I know it was having the desired effect when there was the normal amount of traffic and articles. Once summer set in though, the articles stopped coming regularly and there was nothing to mash-up.
@mike_84 IMO go to an independent kennel service, any big pet chains suck.
@mike_84 It looks good but I'm gonna wait for the PC version to come out.
@Jmessih Its going to be an interesting training camp
@Jmessih I think that will happen, just not right away.
Some good back and forths yesterday. Could get a little snippy, but we're all big boys and girls here.
They've changed the basic formula for calculating the sharing as well so that it's more generous. And also rejigged of the some restrictions, like the one which decreased a poor team's share if they they had massive potential viewers in their areas.
@Xxxxxnew Same, always been a fav of mine.
some are less grandiose than others. By the way, on the other thread Robidas is quoted as saying he is not yet cleared for contact. is that a surprise or do you think maybe he just hasn't sought to be cleared since he doesn't have to worry about it for a few more weeks. He broke the leg in April (I think) so I would imagine he's good to go. Be more concerned if he had gotten a concussion
@Xxxxxnew I feel like reality has hit him and he takes hockey seriously (similar to what happened when North Dakota sent him home).
I read a lot in the LA papers about what happened to him last year. He was just a terrible fit with the Kings. He had lot trouble meshing with his line mates when he started the season on the top line and later the second line. He couldn't score at all and started piling up turnovers. He couldn't replace anybody in the bottom six in Sutter's system so he was out of the lineup for half the season. Not sure why he was scratched in Columbus.
Your latter comment is my sober line of thought as well. I think Robidas may turn out to be the most significant player the Leafs acquired. But his age may convince them to hang onto Franson longer than they otherwise would
@Xxxxxnew In CBJ is where I thought it was confusing, makes no sense
Especially the was they just let him go in the summer. My curiosity is getting to me again. I'll scrape through some Columbus stuff in the next couple of days because there's not much else going on. One thing I have to say is in all the stuff I read about him last year, there was no hint of him partying or anything like that.
@Xxxxxnew You'd figure it would be partying related but damn how do you not figure it out?
Everything I read seemed to point elsewhere. The impression I got was he might have a low confidence threshold. Almost as if when he couldn't figure out how to succeed in the LA system, especially going so long without a goal, he never got his mojo back. Hopefully he has good people around him as training camp begins.
@Xxxxxnew Seems as though Jake, Nazem and a few others (Leo) are close with him. I expect him to be in a good spot when camp roles around.
It would be a bonus for the Leafs, especially getting him back after including him in the Bernier trade.
@Xxxxxnew Exactly, D'Amigo was going to be nothing more than a 4th liner, Frattin can be more and we all know what Bernier might turn out to be.
