Nice interview! September is finally here!

Nonis very subtly criticized Carlyle for his choices last season.  Suggested that this season players should get ice time based on merit, and that the new assistants will hopefully push him to make better choices.  Interesting.

MaxwellHowe and I heard the same interview and got a different twist on it … what I got was the RC wasn’t given the depth required … now that he dopes have real hockey players in the 6-12 slot, they will be used more … How do you criticize a coach for not playing FML, Orr, Smithson, Smith Etc more than a few minutes?

reenergized MaxwellHowe Not the way I heard it.  When a GM says that he wants the team to be one which plays guys that deserve to be played, he is saying the team has not done this in the past

DeclanK cryptotho mtommy Pre meddiated roster decisions are usually what wins in the end, not a couple games vs weak preseason competition.
Obviously it depends on the team, there are 0 roster spots open to won from marlies on the Leafs this year. Sure Frason could lose out, and maybe kontiola and booth/santorelli are brutal, but the odds of any marlies making it through leafs camp are slim.
