Leafs lose out on Cammalleri sweepstakes

By Alec Brownscombe | Jul 1, 2009

It was unlikely Burke would test the $5 million threshold with Cammalleri… looks like the Habs have. 6 years, 5 million per as Cammalleri joins the Canadiens

Too much $$$…I would agree to $5 million max…

Habs are going to be locked into 2 contracts for some time…

Gainey is definitley senile. Look for the habs trying to fight the leafs for the bottom of the standings next year. Gainey’s made some HORRIBLE moves over the past 2 days. Gomez’s overpaid contract. Cammelleri’s overpaid contract. 2 old defencemen. So glad that the days of NTC’s and overpaying are gone for us.

Lets see how Cammalleri does when he’s not centering Jarome Iginla!!
I think it’s gonna be a signing similar to Jason Blake and Cammalleri will max out with about 20 goals next season in Habland!!

Cammalleri will be a bust in Montreal, No Iggy, Lankow, Conroy, no playmaker in Montreal, means only 20 goals. Adds on to that, Jacque Martin is a defensive minded coach, so not a lot of offense to show for.

No way Cammalleri should be getting almost 1mil more than Hossa…

I would never pay him that much, but I must admit Gomez and Cammalleri may find some good chemistry. Though they are both overpaid. And Hal Gill and Spacek? Really? lol

I wouldnt want him at 6. I would say 5 tops after watching everything go down today. Burke is doing good not pulling a JFJ
