Heatley to EDM? NO! Kaberle Interest Rises

    150

It is being reported by TSN that Dany Heatley has refused to waive his NTC in a deal to the Edmonton Oilers for the speculated return of Andrew Cogliano, Ladislav Smid, and Dustin Penner. I’m not usually one to have an opinion, but that was somewhat classless, then again, he signed a NTC for a reason, so he could have this control.

The fireworks of this year’s off-season continue to ignite, as the transaction activity is above and beyond more intense and interesting than the past few years. It’s too bad there weren’t more high end players in this year’s FA crop.

With Bouwmeester off the shelf, this really starts to create some discussion on how much value the Leafs have in Kaberle. Niedermayer took Pronger out of the picture, and other than Komisarek and Beauchemin available (supposedly, unless something happens tonight) before tomorrow, which the Leafs also seem to have interest in, the Leafs are looking damn good with their situation on Kaberle. We all know he won’t go for the amount Pronger went for, but I’m sure he could get more than Gomez.

    Your thoughts?
