Morning Mashup: Leafs closing in on 2012 2nd round pick

Last night the Boston Bruins got themselves within a game of the Stanley Cup Finals, moving the Leafs within one Bruins win of an additional 2nd round pick in 2012 as a result of the conditional draft selection included in the Tomas Kaberle deal. If the Bruins were to go on and win, Tyler Seguin picking up a Stanley Cup ring in his first season in the league would undoubtedly be the basis of ample Leafs joke fodder but this has to be viewed as a positive development from the Toronto perspective (if you can look past the deal and accept the possibility that both sides got a good player). In terms of the Kaberle deal, it’s smiles all around if Kabs winds up with a ring and the Leafs get Joe Colborne, a first and a second round pick.

I’m getting ahead of myself here; Guy Boucher’s Lightning came back from a 3-1 deficit way back in round one against Pittsburgh and they return home to try to force a Game 7 that seems only fitting with the way this Eastern Conference finals series has played out.
