GDT: Leafs at Flyers (7 p.m., TSN)

The Leafs lock up with the Flyers in Philadelphia tonight for their 55th game of the season. It’s the second game of the season between the two – the first being a 4-2 win for the Flyers.

From The Score Sports Network:

The Flyers are in the midst of an 0-2-1 stretch, marking the club’s lengthiest skid since it went 0-3-2 from March 31-April 8 of last season. Philadelphia has just four wins over its last 11 contests (4-4-3) and is now just two points ahead of New Jersey and Pittsburgh for second in the Atlantic Division and the fourth seed in the East.

Things have shaken out oddly for both clubs so far this season. While the two teams currently enjoy a playoff spot, they’ve had their share of question marks, particularly between the pipes. We’re all aware of Ilya Bryzgalov’s poor showing this season after signing one of the largest goaltender contracts in history, giving way to Sergei Bobrovsky getting his fair share of starts for the Flyers, while the Leafs have had their own goalie battle playing out over the last little while as well.

Bryzgalov won’t dress tonight, he’s sidelined with the flu. Bobrovsky will start, and the Flyers have called up Jason Bacashihua to back him up.

The Leafs will dress the same lineup as Tuesday night’s tilt against the Jets, except Reimer gets the nod tonight;

Lupul-Bozak-Kessel
MacArthur-Grabovski-Kulemin
Lombardi-Connolly-Crabb
Brown-Steckel-Armstrong
-
Gunnarsson-Phaneuf
Liles-Franson
Gardiner-Schenn
-
Reimer (starting)
Gustavsson

With a regulation win the Leafs could get within three points of the fourth placed Flyers, and within one of the idle and sixth-placed Pittsburgh Penguins.

The game will be broadcast nationally on TSN, and you can hear it on AM640. Puck drops at 7:00pm Eastern. Go Leafs go!

Might of been a lazy play but you can also say that the philly player skated his ass of and made a good play……..what did you think the philly guy was just gonna turn around and skate away.He put his head down and skated as fast as he could and Liles just did not expect that……If it is not Schenn or another player you on it has to be Liles tonight……….He did not lose the game our power play did.

Not what he’s saying. As a veteran you want him going balls out in that situation.

Thyat’s ok he should but so should have Liles.

Quit putting words in my mouth. I didn’t say Liles lost the game for them did I? Holy fuck, I thought I laid it out pretty simply for you. I expected Liles to skate his ass of as well, given the timing and situation. The Philly player did, but he wouldn’t have caught Liles if he had have as well.
