Exactly. Unless Luongo is traded before arbitration, Schneider will just accept a one year deal at the awarded salary and become a UFA next summer.

Gillis needs to sign him to a multi-year deal ASAP, and I’m sure the Scneider camp will be very patient with Gillis on that regard until Luongo is out of the picture.

Exactly, I`m not a pro luo supporter, but if there is only one option left Gillis better smarten up fast.

I think thats a very real possibility. Even though I am not anxious to get Lou and his damn contract he was not the problem with the Canucks.

Yes, every goalie does want to be a starter….however when you’re part of a tandem with a respected, proven starter, you keep your mouth shut for the good of the team…..think what you want, but keep your mouth shut.

I don’t think the majority of people ever expected anyone to go before Tavares. Yes Duchene had the hype machine behind him, but most knew JT was the #1 pick.

As far as UFA, I don’t care what did or didn’t happen with teams circumventing the cap, etc. The fact is Burke talks a big game and talks too much when there are a lot of variables out there. It’s hockey. He talks, gets fans excited, then disappoints. And everyone is just supposed to give him a pass?

Underpromise, and overdeliver Burkie… I’d much rather that.

Wow…I’m so happy they bought the team.

hopefully this will mean the end of LeafsTV. Brutal coverage and its BS they force people to pay monthly just to watch a handful of games over the entire season.
