Asked if Carlyle had Reimer on too short a leash, Reimer said: "No comment"

I was hoping that if we got to Xmas and be above .500 wed be ok

Worse we can do now is 1 game over .500. Not sure well be ok now.  1st line is 00-forever and showing no sign of being interested.

Lupul/Holland /Kessel might send a message

Anyone watching 24/7 right now? My power is going on and off and the net is out.

Here's a point of pride for the Oilers to hang on to...they've been successful 3 times this year preventing a 6 game losing streak.

Makes me very happy everyone after tonight has remember Liles is a riverboat gambler. I can't stand that shit, lost it with Kubina too over that.

We need a complete defense overhaul, only Ottawa, Florida and NYI have allowed more goals than us, that is not good enough and time to do something drastic.

Imagine how pissed wed be if we hadn't gotten a point

@DeclanK Reims, I know goaltending and dropping into the butterfly and giving them far side along the ice and short side high is USELESS. He's not even going into paddle down.

I think he has the same issue I had which is the ineffective use of your "windows" and he also need to just use the paddle down and trust that pushing and being aggressive with your blocker hand will eliminate the far side slide-in play.

They're like an expansion team, every year for eight years :)

@djamon They still % wise draw way better than the Sens.

Attendance wise. Wondering when the Sens will fold and shitt Sens fans can go back to pretending to follow hockey and align themselves with the Habs so they do what they really want a hockey team for: to hate on the LEafs. (Yes, they're jealous they're a forgotten city.)

And Kubina was making $5.2 at the time.

@Komas Taberle "We accept responsibility and we know we have to be better"  Is that OK?

@Belfour20Hard to believe Liles is best Marlies D-man, which means no Marlie is ready yet

@Belfour20 Yep.  Fraser or Ranger gonna slot in next game.  Orr too.    That might be it.

@wiski @DeclanK Get your ass in shape Darryl and you can join the team for the "Classic" game.

@-Keon- @DeclanK This team has been flawed all year long; a couple of wins hasn't changed anything. There needs to be changes to coaching or personel before they can switch gears. The parts are there, the team isn't.

@Xxxxxnew Liles is what? 3.75? It's like, do you want to be kicked in the nuts or have them placed in a vice?

@ingy56 @Komas Taberle Same thing after every game. It gets so redundant Ingy, we need an overhaul.

I would keep Rielly , everyone else , lets hear the offers.

@djamon @NotSince67 I bet you in the room there is starting to be a goalie controversy, between the two tenders. I bet you they play nice, but they're not wanting the other guy to succeed.

They also don;t seem to congratulate each other after a win like most true batteries do.

djamon
djamon

@NotSince67 Agreed. It makes up for Bernier maybe being more technically proficient.

NotSince67
NotSince67

@djamon @NotSince67 You also can't put a price tag on second effort which Reims has.

I think Reims has some seriously ugly style, but over a large sample size he's effective. It literally two years of being one of the top tenders for Tim THomas to get his respect because his stiyle is ugly as shit.

djamon
djamon

@NotSince67 I don't view him as mentally focused as Reimer either. Maybe that has to do with being a backup his whole acreer, but his mind wanders and he's more prone to cheating.

djamon
djamon

@Komas Taberle Bernier would already won the starting job if he had played better. The simple fact is that he hasn't played well enough to earn the #1 job.

Komas Taberle
Komas Taberle

@djamon @NotSince67

Bernier is the better goalie though, no doubt about it. Better positionally, better rebound, better glove, better going post to post, Bernier will take over and never give up the #1 spot for years.

djamon
djamon

@NotSince67 Nor has Bernier been pulled yet, when it could have happened 3 times. It's obvious to me that the organization has always viewed Bernier as the future #1, even though he and Reimer have played the same.

NotSince67
NotSince67

@Komas Taberle @Belfour20 @DeclanK Meanwhile Bernier has not been called out for the 3 weakest goals by a T.O. netminder by the coach and don;t think Reims doesn;t go home to the wifey and say wtf is this double standard?

NotSince67
NotSince67

@Komas Taberle @Belfour20 @NotSince67 @DeclanK I sympathize with Reimer because in October to mid November he went shot for shot with Bernier an still never got the nod. In his head he KNOWS his margin for error is zero and its tough to operate not only under the pressure of the scoreboard (as a goalie, that's all that matters, if its tied, hold the fort, if you;re behind make sure you keep it where it is, and you HAVE to hold a lead.) but now you literally have to be flawless or the coach holds it against you.

You can mentally just eat yourself alive with undue expectations.

Komas Taberle
Komas Taberle

@Belfour20 @NotSince67 @DeclanK

He's lost the #1 goalie now, his rebound control is absolutley brutal. it's all Bernier now, I said Bernier would be #1 before New Year, looks like I am right.

NotSince67
NotSince67

@Belfour20 @NotSince67 @DeclanK I think Nonnis effectively rattled Reims cage bringing in Bernier but organizationally, Reims battled to take the job, Bernier is still getting the preference and I think Reims is buckling under his own internal pressure to outperform Bernier.

NotSince67
NotSince67

@Belfour20 @NotSince67 @DeclanK What he's doing with it with that protect vs the pass out is just plain stupid. He's cheating pass and the further up you go, guys will eat you for LUNCH when you cheat.

@DeclanK @NotSince67 @-Keon- Like I said earlier I want a true classic power forward like Chris Stewart. I want a RW (preferably) because I think Clarkson was supposed to be that, but at the same time they don't expect production. We need a guy who can be physical and produce. Nathan Horton, JArome Iginla, Chris Stewart (RWs) not JvRs and Blake Wheelers and the like.

@NotSince67 @DeclanK @-Keon- You're going to have to get rid of a good player to get one back. I'd like to off load some of the scoring prowess to get a very good young 2-way center. Just my opinion, but I think it would make a world of difference.

NotSince67
NotSince67

@DeclanK @-Keon- We need that Billy beane moment of "That's what losing sound like." and the Giambi trade to let them know it's not a game. Million dollar question is who can you sacrifice without sinking the ship.

NotSince67

@Zep2 @Komas Taberle @ingy56 TBH this year's draft isn;t that great.

I gush over |Robby Fabbri and he might still be available in the 30-37 if scouts keep discrediting him because of size. I watched him embarass Darnell Nurse for a full 60 minutes the other night.

@Komas Taberle @ingy56 Rielly , Bernier, Gauthier and our 1st rounders. Yeah , after that everyone and everything should be on the table

@-Keon- @ingy56 Good, glad we saved you a call to India, will there be anything else?

NotSince67

@mr_hanie @NotSince67 @-Keon- @Belfour20 I agree, but my bone to pick, if a guy like Holzer, shove shove hack, whistle and they disappear. You give em a shot, you fight back, and suddenly they don't battle as hard, they give up. You need a guy who really is willing to take on all comer, accept every battle, and cannot be intimidated.

NotSince67
NotSince67

@mr_hanie @NotSince67 @-Keon- @Belfour20 Holzer is so soft. You can intimidate him, PK Subban got him to back down.

IMO, that's why Fraser has a job in the NHL, because he's gonna be physically dominant, not hit you, get challenged and have  his balls shrink up for the balance of the game afterwards redering him 100% ineffective. If you play physical, you need physical swagger. Can't just dip your toe and back off when push comes to shove.

NotSince67
NotSince67

@-Keon- @mr_hanie @Belfour20 They said that about Holzer too not realizing his foot speed got him exposed up here.

Fraser and foot speed too makes a difference between the AHL and the NHL
