Troy Bodie has been sent down to the Marlies. Colton Orr returns. Jonathan Bernier starts.
Paul Ranger is expected to step in for John Michael Liles (not confirmed).
Will it be two points in our stockings or a lump of coal? GO LEAFS GO.
Game Recap is up and running.
Goodnight all. I hope all our brethren in T.O. are powered up and ready to lament this latest fuckery on Christmas eve. Or maybe we should all put the Leafs out of our minds for a few days and try to enjoy the holidays
I will never say I regret watching Leafs games because it might be my favourite thing to do after having sex and playing sports but this game made me close
With the exception of Miller, their goal scorer, every single Ranger had double digit TOI minutes. No need to really comment on which line didn't get double digit minutes for the Leafs.
Fortunate to get a point.
Bernier was great. 3rd line was very good but have collective hands of stone.
Clarkson starting to pay dividends
Team still hasn't figured out that the game has 3 periods
New and interesting ways to shoot yourself in the foot- Too many men on the ice while short handed WOW
Bernier back to back solid performances
McClement's faceoff percentage
Dion's overtime performance
Clarkson got a point
Lupul's shootout move
that is the best I can do. Brutal game
Outshot again, this time 43 - 26. Plus I'm pretty sure the Rangers had the better quality shots..
Randy Carlyle has done the near impossible. He’s taken a high flying high scoring but weak defensive team and turned them into an offensively impotent and extraordinarily weak defensive team.
Doesn't matter - we are almost winning games we have no business winning in the first place. If the players are trying to follow Carlye's "defensive system" fine - okay - then the system is allowing us too many shots on goal and robbing us of offensive opportunity.
The first and second periods were just sloppy efforts.
The blame lies on both sides of the coin but I'm just not a fan of Carlye's system that's all.
Let me get this straight.
The Leafs have one of the top snipers in the league (Kessel) and don't even use him in the shootout.
It's too early to say the 18 wheeler has fallen over the cliff but the Leafs are definitely stuck under a bridge.
Should have put Reimer in for the shootout. As good as Bernier is in the game, he doesn't do well in the shoot out.
he should just walk up and take a shit on the table. Ask for any more questions and walk off
bet he wishes he was still the LA backup on times like this
@MaxwellHoweGreat idea! Down with this fuckery and Merry Christmas to you all here at MLHS.
@Bruffins Haven't watched in two and a half weeks. The Boston game was enough for me. I am a happier person for it.
@Bruffins Well I like to have sex after watching the Leafs.
Pretty sure I'm not up to it tonight..
@rustynail if it wasnt for bernier this game would have been about 6-0 rags, the guy stood on his head and was the only guy who showed up to play
@Zep2 that kadri goal should not have counted - we got lucky
@Knights2Leafs Agreed, a team like the Kings, Blues or Bruins would be more suited for him.. I wish we had a guy like Boudreau
@wiski All the way to 9th place...
@gjdevlin The Leafs played their best hockey of the game in the first. That's not saying a whole lot, but it was their best period I thought
@.JVR. he's not good in shootouts though, never has been. For once i'm not upset with Carlyle's choice of shooters
@rockydundas Except Reimer would not have got you to the shootout
@GeorgeCastanzaCircling the drain...........
@Optimustic He didn't even fucking move on both goals.
@Cloud09 he'd still manage to turn the puck over
