fire Randy, find a coach that values the use of 4 lines, and find out how it could contribute to our longevity and success in the standings.
Lupul goes out and Ashton must have literally thrown his pads on and got stuffed at the door before going on the ice..."Wait...what do you mean I'm not playing?"....how long/how much can you dick someone around before they're not gonna give you an honest effort??...no disrespect to D'amigo, I think they should both be playing
So if theres one thing i learned tonight, it's that Lupul makes us slower. We have the talent and speed without him to succeed, i'd rather see a guy that can forecheck in his spot for the future. Evander Kane would b unreal in that spot, but the question is, how do we acquire him? Seems he is in trouble with the law, maybe that'll help our cause? lol.
They say our last three games are on the road, but they're in Tampa, Florida and Ottawa, so about 50% of the crowd should be Leafs fans anyways!
I'm trying to be entirely pragmatic here...Cody Franson signs a 2 year 4 million dollar contract....is anyone happy with that or would you rather have the minimal assets he brings at this point? Because dear god, if anyone watches the Marchand goal tonight before trading him, you can gurantee that 2nd round pick becomes a 3rd
Sooooo happy for Reims tonight
Doesn't look like he'll be a Leaf past next season, but hope he can ride out the storm and prove his detractors wrong.
A trade out West closer to home and the crazy, lovable Mennonite can laugh all the way to the bank while snuggling his fab wife and 12 kids while watching Randy Carlyle bloopers.
Gall dang stupid coach
@Uncle Otis I dont know what i just read, but good luck and Go Leafs Go!
@Savo43 Jake isn't gonna get 4 and Franson isn't gonna be there,,.love the lineup though...my hope is that with the money you save from those 2 you can upgrade on Kozun
You told us Paul Ranger couldn't play in the NHL
Not a career AHLer, but a fringe NHLer
@Savo43 Kane just got charged with beating the shit out of somebody...how do we acquire him? Hire Sean Connery from "The Rock"....That guy could break into anywhere
For Lupul :)
My Bell feed went all screwey and pink several times tonight..I only wish it had have for those five seconds.
Roll 'em Randy's must have.
@DeclanK Bon is literally laughing his ass off...."What a pussy"
@Uncle Otis Once that goal went in on him my friend went "typical"....took all I had to not punch him in the mouth...I have and always will love Reims, and it appears our slim hopes are pinned on the man once again....let's hope he has a short memory!
@Pent_House @Savo43 I don't like Franson either..but if he could sign an early contract at the same price, and have a good offseason, I'd like to see if he could bounce back. I don't think its entirely impossible. Love Kozun though, really hopeful he could be our version of Gallagher or Marchand. We need that forechecking speed, and with Kane..shit..One of the fastest lines in the league. We may need a vet to sign with some skill to pass on some knowledge, but besides that i know i would at least enjoy watching this team. Lots of cap flexibility for the deadline if things workout in our favour throughout the year aswell.
@Uncle Otis @Hammertownleaffan I'm also gonna be entirely honest...Gleason is bought out this summer....the buyout is very reasonable and cap friendly...I'm 90% sure it happens....if we sign Cody for 2 mill a year, and someone just spends every day with him this summer going over film, he could be very useful....he has the skills
While I kinda had the same sense of deja vu...Gunner let that little B own the crease
Reims couldn't have butterflied if he wanted to
Which made me go...hmm
If a player is clearly in the crease on his own, backing the dman into the tender, then how can the goalie stop the puck and why isn't it "no goal"
That was clearly a crease violation and between that and the 30 missed calls against the B's I was fuming
Cam's right..they do get away with murder.
@Hammertownleaffan @Savo43 Don't need to no, with his skills as well im not sure i'd put him in the same sentence as Clarkson lolll. 4 mill isn't bad for what he's capable of growing into, though i'd understand the concern with any 6 year deal for sure. I just look at JVR's contract value, and see to it that we could make similar decisions with our youth.
@Savo43 @Hammertownleaffan Jeeeeeeesus...I'm not trying to insult you...but is that what people see? Do we need to commit 6 years to Gardiner? I won't lie, it could end up being a steal...but I just dont wanna have him and Clarkson on the payroll in 5 years while they sign jerseys at SportChek (however unlikely that may be)
No. Milbury might have still been there or not, but I've read several times how those long silly contracts were engineered by owner Wang.
Just to add to the Yashin thing, he'll be getting his last cheque from the isles next season, $2.2 million which makes him their seventh highest paid forward. Not bad for a 41 year old who hasn't played for the team in eight years.
Last year everyone was asking if that was the real Franson, or is the real Franson the player from the year before. He's been the year before guy this season.
And crosschecks..and punches...and....
