fire Randy, find a coach that values the use of 4 lines, and find out how it could contribute to our longevity and success in the standings.

Lupul goes out and Ashton must have literally thrown his pads on and got stuffed at the door before going on the ice..."Wait...what do you mean I'm not playing?"....how long/how much can you dick someone around before they're not gonna give you an honest effort??...no disrespect to D'amigo, I think they should both be playing

Savo43
Savo43

So if theres one thing i learned tonight, it's that Lupul makes us slower. We have the talent and speed without him to succeed, i'd rather see a guy that can forecheck in his spot for the future. Evander Kane would b unreal in that spot, but the question is, how do we acquire him? Seems he is in trouble with the law, maybe that'll help our cause? lol.

They say our last three games are on the road, but they're in Tampa, Florida and Ottawa, so about 50% of the crowd should be Leafs fans anyways!

I'm trying to be entirely pragmatic here...Cody Franson signs a 2 year 4 million dollar contract....is anyone happy with that or would you rather have the minimal assets he brings at this point? Because dear god, if anyone watches the Marchand goal tonight before trading him, you can gurantee that 2nd round pick becomes a 3rd

@Uncle Otis  I dont know what i just read, but good luck and Go Leafs Go!

@Savo43  Jake isn't gonna get 4 and Franson isn't gonna be there,,.love the lineup though...my hope is that with the money you save from those 2 you can upgrade on Kozun

Four years like Nyquist in Detroit.

@Savo43  Kane just got charged with beating the shit out of somebody...how do we acquire him? Hire Sean Connery from "The Rock"....That guy could break into anywhere

@Hammertownleaffan

My Bell feed went all screwey and pink several times tonight..I only wish it had have for those five seconds.

Roll 'em Randy's must have.

@Hammertownleaffan @Savo43  I was thinking Jake on a 6 year 4 mill. He won't be worth the 4 next year probably, but long term could really be a steal at that price.

Savo43
Savo43

@Pent_House @Savo43  I don't like Franson either..but if he could sign an early contract at the same price, and have a good offseason, I'd like to see if he could bounce back. I don't think its entirely impossible. Love Kozun though, really hopeful he could be our version of Gallagher or Marchand. We need that forechecking speed, and with Kane..shit..One of the fastest lines in the league. We may need a vet to sign with some skill to pass on some knowledge, but besides that i know i would at least enjoy watching this team. Lots of cap flexibility for the deadline if things workout in our favour throughout the year aswell.

Savo43
Savo43

@Uncle Otis @Savo43  We'd have to add for sure...i wonder if it'd be worth it if they wanted our 1st as well...

Hammertownleaffan
Hammertownleaffan

@Uncle Otis @Hammertownleaffan  I'm also gonna be entirely honest...Gleason is bought out this summer....the buyout is very reasonable and cap friendly...I'm 90% sure it happens....if we sign Cody for 2 mill a year, and someone just spends every day with him this summer going over film, he could be very useful....he has the skills

Savo43
Savo43

@Hammertownleaffan @Savo43  Don't need to no, with his skills as well im not sure i'd put him in the same sentence as Clarkson lolll. 4 mill isn't bad for what he's capable of growing into, though i'd understand the concern with any 6 year deal for sure. I just look at JVR's contract value, and see to it that we could make similar decisions with our youth.

Hammertownleaffan
Hammertownleaffan

@Savo43 @Hammertownleaffan  Jeeeeeeesus...I'm not trying to insult you...but is that what people see? Do we need to commit 6 years to Gardiner? I won't lie, it could end up being a steal...but I just dont wanna have him and Clarkson on the payroll in 5 years while they sign jerseys at SportChek (however unlikely that may be)

@Savo43 @Pent_House

Franson will go to Arbys this summer if he remains a Leaf.  My guess is he gets traded (probably packaged with Reimer to try and increase both their values).

@Pent_House @Uncle Otis

You've been right up until the second coming

Like Franson,he teases with size,strength and sometimes great play

Its the sometimes they need to work on.

No. Milbury might have still been there or not, but I've read several times how those long silly contracts were engineered by owner Wang.

Xxxxxnew
Xxxxxnew

Just to add to the Yashin thing, he'll be getting his last cheque from the isles next season, $2.2 million which makes him their seventh highest paid forward. Not bad for a 41 year old who hasn't played for the team in eight years.

Xxxxxnew

Islanders are still paying Yashin.

Gleason's cap hit is $4 mil.

Hammertownleaffan
Hammertownleaffan

@Uncle Otis @Hammertownleaffan I'm not trying to insult Gleason at all. He plays hard, but not 5 mill/year hard. If we could burn that contract with a buyout, get Franny for 2-2.5 for 2 years and WORK on him, and promote Percy/Granberg/MacWilliam....I wouldn't hate that

Savo43
Savo43

@Uncle Otis @Savo43 @Hammertownleaffan  At least it goes up a little. I wonder how much we can resign Gardiner for. He won't be worth it next year, but instead of a bridge deal for Gards, i wouldn't mind a 6 yr 4million$ type deal, similar to JVR's with Philly. PS: maybe thats too much though.

Last year everyone was asking if that was the real Franson, or is the real Franson the player from the year before. He's been the year before guy this season.

Savo43
Savo43

@Hammertownleaffan @Uncle Otis  I agree. Franson is having a Lucic type set back. A lot of it is the fact he never really had a training camp and he just never caught up. I think he could bounce back for sure, he needs a real hard working offseason though.

@Hammertownleaffan @Uncle Otis

I loved Gleason the first half but he seems to have lost a step

Don't know if the fights/hits and concussion issues are coming back,but he's not been as effective.

Unsure on him
