On Wednesday I joined Michael (from Vintage Leaf Memories) and Matteo (from We Want A Cup) on their Leaf Matters podcast. If you haven’t had a chance to check out their podcast, please do so. Our good friend Curt (Blue Chip Prospects) has been on previously, as well as other notable guests like Pat Quinn, Allan Bester, Joe Bowen, Down Goes Brown, and more.

Some of the topics discussed were:

  • Why the Leafs can’t seem to protect a lead
  • The lack of possession players on the Leafs
  • What Kessel brings to the table when he’s not scoring goals
  • Where Dave Nonis is likely to start adjusting the roster, and where I think he should start.

     Well definitely doesn’t fit well in a Civic. :D

    Likely spots in for Brown for now (well Friday) then they likely have some rotation between Orr, Brown and McLaren

    Good to hear, the only way out of a slump is with hard work. He’s doing all he can and it’ll happen soon enough, I’m betting tonight.

     No I never did. I am going to do it this spring though. I plan on putting them to good use this summer and forward. I really like those plans you sent.

    It’s planning for next year. McLaren may play against Boston and next week with Brown out, maybe. But he will likely head to the Marlies after that and be in a position to replace Orr next year, as Orr won’t be back. Brown is also not a sure thing with his injury history, so he could be on his way out as well.

    That story from the sun about Komi’s eye injury is actually a pretty humourous read.

    ” It was not as bad as it could have been. There was a kid in there with a dart in his eye. I’m pretty lucky.”

    Nice. They’re great for lazing outside. I ended up making templates of the cuts out of 1/4 inch hardboard. Now I can whip up a chair in a days or so.

    brown just resigned for 3 yrs at a very affordable contract, im sure we are keeping him around….and Mclaren would have to clear waivers before going to marlies and i doubt he makes it as SJ could reclaim him,,,,,,,,

    Brown is always hurt, he won’t be a Leaf next year

    SJ won’t reclaim him, as they would have to put him back on waivers all over again

    hamilton was practicing on the 4th line today.,…..maybe he was called up for tonight only and gets rewarded for his play and pay in the NHL………or maybe a trade is on the horizon where steckle is gone? who knows,,,

    if sj picks him up from waivers from us wouldn’t he then have to clear waivers again to be sent down to their AHL affiliate…. wouldn’t it be a vicious cycle
