Peter Horachek on his new challenge with the Maple Leafs
New Maple Leafs assistant coach Peter Horachek joined The Jeff Blair Show to talk about his challenge to help return the club to the playoffs, his coaching style, and his plans to orchestrate a good defence.
Forbes says the Leafs are roughly worth 1.15 billion dollars. Only NHL team to make it into the top 50, being the worlds 26th most valuable sports franchise.
Hey, @Pent_House , you're familiar with Eastern Europe and all, who shot down that plane? Just an untrained and trigger happy moron or is this all just Putin trying to stir up trouble?
Someone started an interesting thread similar to this. Here's an interesting question. If 7 of our provinces iced their best players and went head-to-head against each other, who would win and why?
Marchand - Crosby - MacKinnon
A. MacDonald - Grant
Perron - Bergeron - St. Louis
Vlasic - Letang
Stamkos - Tavares - Perry
Doughty - Subban
Sharp - Toews - Penner
Keith - Harmonic
Marleau - Getzlaf - Eberle
Murray - Schenn
Hall - Little - Iginla
Bouwmeester - Phaneuf
Benn - Johansen - Lucic
Rielly - Weber
That's not a pro golfer, it's UFC's Dana White.
@Loric76 Noooo, check out my last gif :P
@Jmessih I've seen that too eh, no fear of them going anywhere anytime soon. NHL would be nothing without us!
@MaxwellHowe @Pent_House Who really knows, you have to be on the ground to really have correct info like that. My gut would say Russia or pro-russian separatists, no difference really. Could have been Ukraine but I doubt it, unless they mistook it for a figher jet or some bs.
Historically Russian gov't is the bad guy in our corner of the world.
@Xxxxxnew Even Kevin Dineen thinks he is
@Pent_House It was pretty amazin in 3D
@Hmmm Ontario wins pretty easily IMO. Best RW in Canada(top3 in the world), two top 5 centers in the world(if Stammer is LW, then he's the best LW in the world), top 3 Dman in the world, top offensive Dman in the world. As long as Mason played the way he did this year, they're the best.
@Hmmm Rielly over Seabrook? Not sure about that just yet. Also RNH or Johansen? Also Mason or Mike Smith?
www.quanthockey.com <-- site that lists players by birthplace
I feel really bad for Uke's though, they've been torn between Poland and Russia for hundreds of years, and they're always in the worst financial and living conditions. They're the poorest on the bloc since forever. My grandparents have been calling and telling me about the massive amounts of refugees and victims coming into Poland.
@Fish Head Couldn't find an NHL goalie for them.
@loomx ON certainly has the depth, my scenario is just 5-on-5 :)
@NinetyThree Rielly over Seabrook mainly because Weber is a righty. RNH could be better. I'll have to take your word on Smith.
@RandomScrub Likely it will be close between ON and BC with QC being a dark horse.
@Bruffins Interesting choice. They win with offense I assume?
@Hmmm @Fish Head Oh Drew macIntyre, we hardly knew ye
@Hmmm @Fish Head Goalies are overrated
@Hmmm @NinetyThree they're good lineups, just throwing out other possibilities. I see the logic with Rielly. Agree about RNH even though I prefer the other guy. At this point I'd lean on Smith over Mason but Smith seems to be more of a product of playing in a good defensive system.
my serious answer would be Ontario lol
So one theory they're posing now is what I was saying earlier about the passenger jet being confused for a military aircraft, but pro-russian forces shooting it down.
I'm just wondering why Malaysian Airlines would fly through a war-zone.. not a great idea at all.
@MaxwellHowe @Fish Head Thanks, now we can have an 8th team.
Gallant- B. Richards - Ott
Gormley - McQuaid
Or a combination of PE and NL would be more competitive.
PE - NL
Clowe NL - B. Richards PE - Purcell NL
Pardy NL - McQuaid PE
Drew MacIntyre PE
At big picture yea it's East vs West but saying Ukraine has fuck all to do with it is short-sighted bro. Russia is going to do everything possible to keep Ukraine under the wing, as it's their last territory blocking them from Western Forces. If Ukraine moves along with the West, the West will be right up against the Russian Border. This same exact shit was happening in Poland 20 years ago, when we were the frontline country beside the West. There's going to be all kind of other bs and sub-plots surrounding it, but that's my view on it.
I understand that whole line of thinking but Russia didn't start this whole mess bro.
Russia is on the defensive while the west is on the offensive. Ukraine was trying to get away to start this whole thing, so I don't really see it as Russia poking, it's more like the West poking and trying to nab another slice of the pie. This whole shit started when Ukrainians wanted to join the EU.
