From the Maple Leafs official release:

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Wednesday that the club has signed Travis Dermott to a three-year entry level contract.

Dermott, 18, was drafted by the Maple Leafs in the second round (34th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft. The Newmarket, Ontario native collected 45 points (eight goals, 37 assists) in 61 regular season games with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League last season. He also led all OHL defencemen in playoff points with 17 (five goals, 12 assists) in 20 games.

Dermott begins his 2015-16 season by attending the World Junior development camp starting July 29. His contract will slide once he is officially returned to Erie.

Update:

It also looks like the Hunters are working to move 2014 fourth round pick J.J. Piccinich, who struggled at Boston University last season with limited ice time and little in the way of production, over to the London Knights for next season, but that has yet to be confirmed by the organization. When the Leafs have someone as deeply embedded in the OHL circle as Mark Hunter is (and to a lesser extent Kyle Dubas) in their front office, having as many of their prospects playing in the OHL as they can would make sense — and with the Hunters owning the Knights, he’s not far removed from being fully under the Leafs‘ control.
