Jonathan Bernier starts for the Leafs tonight.

Tempting as it was to keep rollin’ with Reims, this is the smart call. If last night’s game was a 24-save performance it might be a different story, but it was a 40+ shot night, and regardless of that consideration Reimer is in the midst of a seven-games-in-13 days run of starts. The season is long.
The Leafs will not have to face Henrik Lundqvist tonight; the Rangers played in Ottawa last night, and Antti Raanta has been confirmed as the Rangers’ starter this evening at MSG. Raanta’s been great in his three starts this season — 3-0-0, with a .967 save percentage and a 0.67 goals against average.
After playing mostly well, doing a lot of the right things and still losing, the Leafs are starting to get their due reward of late, and are heating up to the tune of three wins in a row and points in six of their last seven, including a couple of wins over the top team in the West (Dallas). Let’s see what they’ve got against the leaders in the East here in the Rangers.
