The Toronto Rumour Mill is buzzing today with word of the Leafs and Bolts in talks for the 2nd overall pick in this years NHL Entry Draft.

Hockey Night In Canada’s Elliotte Friedman broke the worst kept secret in the NHL,  leading up to this years draft, that the Leafs were  rumoured to be talking to the Tampa Bay Lightning about getting their #2 Overall pick.

The deal said to be under discussion would involve Toronto sending their 7th Overall pick to the Lightning in exchange for Tampa’s 2nd Overall pick, Ryan Malone and one other player. Well as the day has gone on more details have emerged. Brian Burke has confirmed Tampa has asked that Luke Schenn and Thomas Kaberle be included in this deal.

Now, I don’t know about any of you, but is the 2nd Overall pick this year (it’s safe to assume it’ll be Victor Hedman, or Matt Duchene) worth Toronto’s 2008 5th Overall Pick, 2009 7th Overall Pick, and Thomas Kaberle? And let’s not forget we are taking back Ryan Malone. I for one am very happy we have Brian Burke, god can only wonder what JFJ would have done.

What would you do?
