Anthony Petrielli and I will be interviewing Toronto Maple Leafs Vice-President of Hockey Operations, Dave Poulin, tomorrow afternoon for an upcoming feature.  The discussion will revolve mostly around recent player acquisition and attempt to glean some insight on the day-to-day operations of the club from a management perspective heading into the 2012-2013 season.  Please feel free to submit any possible questions you might have in the comments section below.  Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with.

Not really – it is like drawing a sample.

A top goalie has a chance of 92% of stopping the puck and an average has 90%.

You can’t add the 90% just because you have three – 3 average goalies will still only stop 90% of the pucks.

On 2000 shot per season that is equal to 40 goals.

I think if you pan long enough for gold your eventually find it, I.E get lots of depth all the time keep adding to it and one will turn out eventually and if BB gets Lou then so be it.

I don’t see what the problem is here…in Bernier we get a Canadian goalie drafted at 11th overall (tied for highest drafted goalie since 2003) in exchange for Scrivens and likely some bits and pieces we don’t need or want (ie: lombardi, connolly, komisarek, etc.)

We then have Reimer and Bernier, both young goalies with huge upside that we don’t have to throw a lot of money at. In that tandem, and as mentioned, we have two kids pushing each other to constantly improve and grow with the team. We then have first round picks littered throughout every position.

The potential for one of these two goalies to get Luongo numbers (.920) isn’t out of the realm of possibility and with a team that is still growing and in need of some other key roster spots, this isn’t a bad plan B – AT ALL.

Is Bernier Luongo? No. Will he be paid like Luongo? Not at all. If Getzlaf, Perry, or Weber make it to UFA in 2012/13 you guys will be more than glad we took a gamble on a kid that didn’t hit our cap with 6m per.

Anyone thinking we remotely have a shot at signing big name free agents while the roster looks like this is sadly mistaken.

I don’t see him fitting with Allaire at all. Is Allaire retiring?
