The Toronto Maple Leafs have trimmed their roster to 24 with no surprising cuts. At least one cut remains before Tuesday at 5 p.m. in order to get under the 23-man roster limit.

There were two demotions that might give people pause – Connor Brown and William Nylander — but the writing was on the wall after they didn’t play in either of the games this weekend. Each had strong camps and arguably deserved to make the team, but the Leafs are going to have a rough year and it would be surprising if they didn’t make their way to the roster at some point anyway this season due to injuries and trades.

Zach Hyman and Stuart Percy stand out as the other two that had strong preseason showings. Ultimately, Leafs management is staying true to their development mantra and Sheldon Keefe should have plenty of talent to work with on the Marlies.

Here is a full list of the cuts:

Among these options, only Harrington wouldn’t have to clear waivers as he is on his ELC.

There is one more cut to go, but we’ll need to wait to dig into that one. The final cut depends on who else goes on waivers league wide and if the Leafs make any claims. There might be one guy cut, or it might be multiple players cut with a waiver claim(s) from elsewhere.

Currently, the Leafs depth chart looks something like this:
