Toronto Maple Leafs’ second-round draft selection in 2016, Carl Grundstrom, scored three of the first four goals in a 5-1 win by HC Froluna over Leksands IF.

After one point in his first 10 games, the right winger is up to four goals in 11 games with Thursday’s hat trick. Important to keep in mind is that Grundstrom, as an 18-year-old in the top-flight Swedish league, is playing limited minutes — just 12:49 on average, which is 11th among Frolunda’s forwards.

Grundstrom’s four goals lead all “junior-age” players in the SHL, according to SHL.se, and his 22 shots stand second among junior-age players after 11 games.
