Since we are talking about potential assistant coaches in Toronto, add the name Ted Dent...Hawks' AHL Coach in Rockford...to the list.

Did everyone see Dangle's tweet? The guy was hilarious with that.

If you were setting up a sport event and needed to play the national anthem before the game what would you go with? Words or just the music?

Well, I was pretty happy with my progress on deciding whom I would like the Leafs to draft, then I noticed it was the same guy Button picked. Not so sure anymore.

@mcloki I'll go over the glass and take a swing at Tocchet if he ends up here. Just saying.

@wiski If I remember correctly 20-4 in their last 24 games, and swept 4 out of their last 5 series. Something like that anyway.

@Bruffins @sniperstar Malkin for JVR and Kadri. I was dying when he posted it. the article attached is literally encouraging us to spread the stupid trade rumour. See how viral it can go.

@WendelGilmour @Gilbey93 I would bet that Reinhart, Ekblad, Bennet, Dal Colle and Draisaitl will be gone before we pick at 8th. My next choices in order would be Nylander, Ehlers then Vertanen. One of those 3 would have to be there and I'd be thrilled with that. You might actually be able to drop a few spots and get another pick and still get Vertanen

@Fish Head @WendelGilmour @Gilbey93 Yeah, I agree those guys will be gone, so I'm trying to focus on who might be available. Most have Nylander gone also, so really I've got it down to Ritchie, Virtanen, and Ehlers.  Very limited looks at these guys, but Virtanen's report says he is a non-factor when he doesn't have the puck, and does not really get involved along the boards, so I scratched him. Ehlers, I'm not sure, I watched his hilites on Youtube and was not blown away, although his point totals were good. Still 3 weeks to decide.

In fairness I should add some say Ritchie is pretty inconsistent. I was really impressed with his hilites though.

@WendelGilmour @Fish Head @Gilbey93 Ritchie has the feel of boom or bust. If he's the next Lucic then great. Apparently Vertanen was the fastest skater both forward and backwards at the CHL skills. We all know you can't teach speed. He's a true power forward and we also know that power forwards can take longer to develop. I think you can coach/teach the away from the puck game so I think he could be a possible top 6 guy in 3-4 years. I know that sounds long but we need to grow our talent

@WendelGilmour @Fish Head @Gilbey93 It seems to me that speed has been a great factor in the recent years of the pursuit of the Cup so that was one of the things I was looking for in the 3 players that I pointed out. Having said that I think Ritchie can skate but he's not as quick as the other 3
